Technical procedure and clinical relevance of scintigraphy using platelets labeled with indium-111-oxinate
Description
In order to detect plaques and stenoses typical of arteriosclerotic changes, scintiscan studies using indium-111-labeled platelets may be a valuable addition to angiography and ultrasonic procedures provided, however, that an adequate labeling procedure is followed and their use restricted to carefully selected patients. In 43% of cases the findings thus revealed are consistent with those from other procedures. The levels of radioactivity are high in the spleen, lower values are determined for wholebody exposure and the gonads. (TRV)

Die Szintigraphie mit Indium-111-markierten Blutplaettchen erscheint bei entsprechender Indikationsstellung und unter Anwendung eines optimalen Markierungsverfahrens als sinnvolle Ergaenzung zu Angiographie und Sonographie zum Nachweis von arteriosklerotischen Plaques und Stenosen: Diagnostische Uebereinstimmung aller Methoden in 43%.
