On a examine successivement le metabolisme de l'iode dans l'organisme, ainsi que ses relations avec l'activite fonctionnelle de la thyroide, la dosimetrie et les problemes poses par l'evaluation des doses recues par la thyroide et les differents points de l'organisme, les resultats des experimentations animales sur le plan radiobiologie et radiocarcinogenese, les etudes epidemiologiques des effets d'une irradiation de la glande thyroide et enfin la reglementation de la radioprotection en ce qui concerne les iodes radioactifs.
