Synchrotron radiation: principles and applications
Description
The present contribution reviews the basic physical principles of synchrotron radiation and outlines the historical development of the field. Emphasis is placed on third generation sources, and insertion devices in particular. Applications in atomic physics research are reviewed with emphasis on experiments on photoionization of discussed. Experimental developments in inverse photoionization and laser stimulated radiative recombination are summarized. (author)
