Influence of the profiled VVER-440 fuel assemblies on the reactor power distribution
Description
The title effect was studied with modernized VVER-440 fuel assemblies usually employed at the Nuclear Power Station Dukovany. The experiment was performed on the LR-0 reactor at the NRI Rez and its purpose was to study the influence of the radial profiling of fuel assembly enrichment on the power density distribution. Experimental results are compared with the data computed by the MCNP code. The use of radially profiled VVER-440 fuel assemblies in the reactor results in more flat power distribution. The values of local power at the corners of the profiled assembly can differ from the corresponding values of the unprofiled one by more than 15 %. (author)
