Description of stress-controlled cyclic plasticity using the cyclic non-hardening region model

  • 1. Toyohashi Univ. of Technology (Japan). Dept. of Energy Engineering

Description

A constitutive model based on the concept of a cyclic non-hardening region is used to describe cyclic plastic behaviours of 304 stainless steel under stress- and strain-controlled cyclic loadings: With a set of material constants determined from some strain-controlled experimental results, predictions of the model are calculated for several kinds of stress- and strain-controlled cyclic loadings, and compared with the corresponding experimental results. It is shown that cyclic stress-strain curves calculated under the conditions of constant strain- and stress-ranges coincide with each other. A limitation of the model is also discussed that, in the case of stress-controlled cyclic loadings, predicted mean-strains may differ largely from experimental ones. (orig./EF)
