Description
The problem of sulphur presence, during the firing of ceramic blends made with red clays of the Apennines, is here analysed. This report describes the results of the research on the red-clay single-cooking emissions, both in a laboratory furnace and in an industrial plant newly conceived. The sulphur dioxide emission due to the sulphurs oxidation, is noticed in both cases, although it appears that the emission gasses at the industrial plant chimney contain just a trace of sulphur compounds. In order to discover where the sulphur dioxide was absorbed it was hypothesised a reaction between the sulphur dioxide and the firing blend. (orig.)
