Long-term issues (and energy policy)
Description
A report is given by the Secretary of State for Energy to the UK Parliamentary group for Energy Studies on the long term issues concerned with energy policy. The two main themes are that energy markets work best when private enterprise is predominant but that Government has strategic objectives of ensuring a long term security of supply. Particular reference is made to the forthcoming electricity privatization and its effect on the nuclear and coal industries. (U.K.)
