Description
The influence of γ-irradiation on lanthanum manganate (LaMnO3) for the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide has been studied. The enhanced catalytic activity is attributed to the transition metal centres in the reduced state formed during γ-irradiation. The reduced metal facilitates the chemisorption of oxygen which increases with increase in γ-dose in presence of moisture. (author). 5 refs., 2 tabs
