Description
The multi-element Si(Li) detector, 40 mm long, 15 mm wide and 5 mm thick with 30 individual element, has been fabricated. The element sensitive region is 0.9 mm wide and is separated from each other by gaps of 0.1 mm. The average leakage current for each element is about 10-45 nA at operating 500 V bias. The interelement resistance on the detector is about 10-20 MΩ. Therefore the detector can apply not only imaging system of current mode but also pulse mode in a spectrographic application. The energy resolution FWHM approx.= 10 keV has been obtained from one element for 59.6 keV γ-ray at room temperature. The design and fabrication are discussed
