On the generation of trigger pulses synchronous with the accelerating r.f.-field of a linear L-band accelerator

Description

The paper describes the generation of independent trigger signals synchronous with the microwave accelerating field of a linear electron accelerator, in order to trigger the beam injector and a recording device. These trigger signals are generated by directly prescaling and counting the accelerating r.f.- power of a pulsed and free-running magnetron oscillator (L-Band). Details of the circuitry are given and jitter between the two trigger pulses of about 20 ps is demonstrated. (author)
