Description

In nuclear spectroscopy instrument, the output signal of detector is often shaped into the desired waveform in order to remove noises and make the waveform meet the needs of the subsequent analysis. We propose a new digital shaping method. According to the CR-RC analog shaping filter circuits, the unit impulse response of analog shaping filter is deduced. Then the unit impulse response of digital shaping filter is deduced according to the same impulse response. Digital forming waveform can be obtained by calculating the convolution sum of digital nuclear pulse signal and the unit impulse response. The experimental results with simulating and sampling signals show that the algorithm is valid, noise has been removed effectively and nuclear pulse signal has been shaped into pseudo-gaussian signal.
