  • 1. Vsesoyuznyj Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Inst. Yadernoj Geofiziki i Geokhimii, Moscow (USSR)

Description

A ion acceleration vacuum tube is described, which is designed for well generators of neutrons. A net system is used to eliminate secondary electrons from the target. The dimensions of the tube are: length - 355mm, diameter of the cylindrical target - 65mm. For the bipolar electric supply system the acceleration voltage is 190 kV, the high voltage pulse length is nearly 2μs, the repetition frequency of the pulses is 40-50 Hz. The tube gives a neutron flux of 1010n/s. The service life of the tube is 2x1010 switchings
