Determination of the real part of the forward pp and pp scattering amplitude and of the differential cross-section slope using the cos 0 plane analyticity

Description

On the basis of the data on differential cross sections of elastic pp and anti p p- scattering outside the interference region the absolute values for the real part of the forward scattering amplitude and for the differential cross section slope parameter were determined. Optimal use of analyticity properties of the scattering amplitude in the cos theta -plane makes the basis of the method which leads to considerably greater absolute values of the real part and of the slope parameter as compared to those obtained according to the Bethe formula basing on the data on differential cross sections in the interference region. This disagreement is discussed
