The asynchronous formulation of relativistic particle mechanics

Creators

Description

It is shown that the no interaction theorem, which has been an obstacle in formulating relativistic particle dynamics, does not exist in the asynchronous formulation. A manifestly covariant asynchronous description of two interacting particles is given. Differences between the synchronous and the asynchronous descriptions are exhibited by considering and illustrating example. Transformation formulae for the components of torque, as defined asynchronously, are deduced. It is pointed out that there is no polarization of inertia in the asynchronous formulation
