The new progress in magnetic resonance imaging of cervical cancer
- 1. Department of Medical Imaging, Xiangya Hospital Central South University, Changsha (China)
Description
Cervical cancer is a common tumor in the female reproductive system. Traditional magnetic resonance imaging displays the morphological changes of cervical cancer in a noninvasive way, but there are still some limitations. Functional magnetic resonance imaging as a supplement to traditional MR technology has more and more advantages in the evaluation of cervical cancer. It can provide comprehensive information for pathological classification, grading, peripheral tissue involvement, lymph node metastasis, treatment and prognosis. The research progresses of functional magnetic resonance imaging such as diffusion-weighted imaging, dynamic enhanced MR imaging, MR spectroscopy and blood oxygen level dependent MR imaging in cervical cancer were reviewed.
