1983. Annual progress report

Description

A beautiful experiment series for studying high energy excitation structures (10 to 80 MeV), concerning very heavy and asymmetric systems. CEV-Alice contributions to annual report concern Hg and Er high spin energy levels. About reaction mechanisms, the following contributions can be noticed: proton backward emission experiment results of high energy, at 200 MeV, on numerous targets; spectroscopic studies of direct transfer reactions by 18O with measurement of angular distributions until 00; many heavy ion experiments around 30 MeV/u concerning the mechanism evolution between 10 and 100 MeV. Pion coherent production experiments have been made this year on energy dependence of the reaction 3He+3He → 6Li+π+, considered as an existing model test. Cross section measurement of the elementary reactions (p,π+) on three targets of very different masses, in a large energy scale and a wide angular domain, have been measured at the Synchrocyclotron. Concerning the nuclear structure in low and medium energy levels, elastic scattering and transfer studies are to be noticed particularly in transition nuclei region. Exotic nuclei rich in neutrons, with medium mass, Fe, Co, Ni, Zn have been studied using the 14C beam of the Orsay tandem. The radiochemistry group work is essentially centered on actinides study

Abstract (French)

Il faut noter une tres belle serie d'experiences d'etude des structures a haute energie d'excitation (10 a 80 MeV), concernant les systemes tres lourds et asymetriques. Les contributions du CEV-Alice au rapport annuel portent sur les etats de haut spin des noyaux de Hg et de Er, etudies en utilisant le spectrometre-somme a plusieurs compteurs INa. En ce qui concerne les mecanismes de reaction, on peut noter parmi les contributions: les resultats des experiences d'emission de protons d'energie elevee vers l'arriere, a 200 MeV sur de nombreuses cibles; des etudes a but spectroscopique de reactions de transfert direct par 18O, avec mesure des distributions angulaires jusqu'a 00; plusieurs experiences en ions lourds au voisinage de 30 MeV/u concernant l'evolution des mecanismes entre 10 et 100 MeV/u. Les experiences de production coherente de pions ont porte cette annee sur la dependence en energie de la reaction 3He+3He → 6Li+π+ consideree comme un test des modeles existants. Des mesures de section efficace des reactions elementaires (p,π+) sur trois cibles de masse tres differentes, dans une large gamme d'energie des pions et un grand domaine angulaire, ont ete effectuees au Synchrocyclotron. En ce qui concerne la structure nucleaire dans les etats de basse et moyenne energie, on note en particulier des etudes de diffusion elastique et de transfert dans les regions de noyaux de transition. Des etudes de noyaux exotiques riches en neutrons, de masse moyenne, Fe, Co, Ni, Zn ont ete effectuees en utilisant le faisceau de 14C du tandem d'Orsay.
