Core meltdown according to plan. Simulated MCA yields better knowledge
Description
The main component in the simulation of a core meltdown at the Cadarache Research Centre in the south of France is a capsule with a separate cooling circuit. It is fitted in the core of the Phebus research reactor and is filled with fuel rods which one allows to melt by the deliberate failure of the cooling. (orig./HP)

Hauptsaechliche Komponente bei der Simulation einer Kernschmelze im suedfranzoesischen Forschungszentrum Cadarache ist eine Kapsel mit separatem Kuehlkreislauf. Sie wird in den Kern des Forschungsreaktors Phebus montiert und fuer die Simulationen mit Brennstaeben gefuellt die man dann durch absichtliches Ausfallen der Kuehlung schmelzen laesst.
