On a possibility of measuring vector meson radiative widths in hadron reactions

Description
A study is made of the πsup(+-)(Ksup(+-)+p(4He)→rhosub(+-)(Ksup(*=+-)+rho(4He) reactions at high energies S and small momentum transfers qsun(tr). The contributions from strong and electromagnetic interactions are analyzed. Regions are evaluated where a single-photon contribution dominates (for a proton qsub(tr)sup(2)<10-2 GeV2 at S=100 GeV2 and qsub(tr)sup(2)<10-2 GeV2 at S=800 GeV2) and where the interference of strong and electromagnetic interactions is important. By measurements in these energy regions vector meson radiation widths are found. At not very high energies (Esub(l.s.)<100 GeV) the reactions producing vector meson are shown to be more advantageous owing to the absence of π-meson exchange and a greater contribution from electromagnetic interaction at high values of qsub(tr)sup(2)
