Investigations to heat effects, neutronemission, and tritiumaccumulation during electrolysis of heavy water

  • 1. Sektion Chemie, Humboldt-Univ., Berlin (Germany)

Description

The possibility of additional heat production and the neutron flux during electrolysis of D2O at Palladium electrodes were investigated in long-time experiments. Only a small number of heat outbursts during 1 ... 2 h and a single extra neutron flux during 30 h were observed within more than 2000 hours of experiments. In some cases an enhanced tritium content after the electrolysis was found. (orig.)
