Effect of change of chemical composition of natural gas on the performance of gas turbines: An approach to the Colombian case
Description
At present natural gas participation is increasing in the world to electricity generation. One of the world concern respect of gas thermal power plant availability and its life duration is the effects of chemical composition changes of natural gas, therefore gases interchangeability becomes in a main point in plan and operate that kind of stations. This paper reviews the state of the art in the effects of gases interchangeability over gas thermal power station, also it analyzes the matters which could happen at colombian gas thermal power plants, when Guajira's natural gas will be changed for Cusiana's natural gas. That situation could be used as example to other countries when they have to change between two different natural gases, in our case we are working with a natural gas that is from a free natural gas field and then we will change it to one that is from an associated oil field.
