A measurement of sin2θw from the forward-backward asymmetry in p bar p → Z0 → e+ e- interactions at √s = 1.8 TeV

Description

An analysis of the forward-backward asymmetry in Z0 decays using data from the Collider Detector at Fermilab provides a measurement of sin2 bar θw. The forward-backward asymmetry is measured to be (5.2 ± 5.9 (stat) ± 0.4 (sys))%, which implies sin2 bar θw = 0.288-0.015+0.017 (stat) ± 0.002 (sys), after QCD, QED, and weak corrections. When higher order weak corrections are included, the measured value of sin2θw is consistent with previous measurements over a broad range of top quark masses
