Laser damage threshold of KDP single crystal at 1.053 μm
- 1. Yamanashi Univ., Kofu (Japan). Faculty of Engineering
Description
In laser fusion, a large KDP crystal for harmonic generation of glass laser has been desired. KDP crystals are demanded high threshold of laser damage for this purpose. Therefore, thresholds of the bulk laser damage were measured in regard to the incident direction of laser, growth sectors in the same crystal and growth methods with a single laser pulse (1053 nm, 1 ns). In the sample of the temperature decrease method, the damage threshold of prismatic sector is 34 J/cm2 in the direction of [010]. This value is about 3 times lager than that of pyramidal sector.
