Voltage-fluctuation summation in the channels of a diagonal type of MHDG
Description
A theoretical analysis has been performed on the summation of voltage fluctuations in a channel of diagonal type in an MHDG with an inductive load. Allowance has been made for the spatial correlation of the electric-field perturbations and the fluctuation averaging in the volume of the plasma bounded by the region of influence from the inclinded frames. The use of the equations is illustrated. A study is made of the scope for breakdown in the insulating gap due to random excursions: increases in voltage across it. It is shown that the equations can be used to determine the dispersion characteristics of the traveling waves in the channel, the stability of the working process in the presence of these waves, and the parameters of the plasma inhomogeneities
