Description

This paper is a summary of the main calculated and experimental results obtained during the BALZAC program performed at the Masurca facility. This program designed for the validation of analysis methods and physical options for new types of fast reactor, concerns measurements on: - reactivity effects produced by heavy isotopes, - energy deposition in central diluent and absorber subassemblies, - control rod heterogeneity effects, - power distribution in an internal storage zone. Generally we observe good agreement between calculations and experiments and good consistency, within the uncertainties, for all the experiments
