Validation of CATHENA for flow oscillation in frequency domain
Description
This paper reports on the validation of CATHENA for flow oscillations. The time-dependent results from the flow oscillation experiment and from the CATHENA simulation were detrended and then transferred into the frequency domain using discrete Fourier transform for comparison. Sensitivities of the modelling options and impacts of uncertainties from the code inputs on the predicted key parameter were also assessed in the frequency domain. The reported work demonstrates that the accuracy of CATHENA in predicting flow oscillation frequencies and amplitudes can be assessed precisely in the frequency domain. (author)
