Knock-out effects in (p,p') reactions

  • 1. Sung Kyun Kwan Univ., Suwon (Republic of Korea)

Description

The knock-out mechanism is considered to account for the forward-angle peaking angular distributions of (p,p') reactions, which multi-step direct reaction theories could not explain. The formulations including spin and isospin dependent central interaction as well as tensor force are presented. Exchange effects are also taken into account. The results of 54Fe(p,p') at 62 MeV are given. It turns out that the knock-out processes can be responsible for the forward-angle peaking cross sections. (author)
