Computer based determination of source terms for emergency preparedness

  • 1. ARC Seibersdorf Research, Health Physics Div., A-2444 Seibersdorf (Austria)

Description

This paper describes the development and the application of an example of the pilot version of the code ASTEC. The goal of this code is the fast determination of radioactive releases during severe accidents and the automatic generation of the input for the dispersion code TAMOS. The resulting determination of the radioactive exposure will support the decisions for countermeasures during the first phase of the accident, in which no measured data will be available. (authors)
