Extraction-chromatographic separation of the transuranium elements plutonium and neptunium

  • 1. Department of Nuclear Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Comenius University in Bratislava, Bratislava (Slovakia)

Description

A radiochemical method was developed for the separation of Pu and Np from soil samples based on extraction chromatography. DGA Resin and TEVA Resin (Eichrom Technologies) served as the sorbents. The samples were spiked with 242Pu for the determination of the chemical yield. 237Np and 242Pu were measured by alpha spectrometry using samples prepared by microprecipitation with NdCl3
