Stability constants of some trivalent metal ion chelates of schiff bases
Description
Potentiometric studies were carried out on metal chelates of La3+, Pr3+, Y3+, Dy3+, Nd3+ and Sm3+ with N-(2-hydroxy-3-methoxy-benzylidene)-2, 6-dimethylaniline and N-(2-hydroxy-3-methoxy benzylidene)-2, 4-dimethyl-aniline, and the dissociation constants of the reagents and formation constants of their metal chelates determined by Calvin-Bjerrum's pH titration technique as adopted by Irving and Rossotti at ± 0.1degC and at ionic strength 0.1M in 75:25 (v/v) dioxan-water medium.
