Corrosion damageability of austenite stainless steels 12Cr18Ni10Ti and 08Cr16Ni11Mo3 irradiated by neutrons

Description

In the present work results of comprehensive studies of cold deformation effect on corrosion damageability of irradiated stainless steels 12Cr18Ni10Ti and 08Cr16Ni11Mo3 are presented. By methods of accelerated corrosion tests in chlorine-containing medium, metallography, and magnetization measurement it is shown that with deformations the α'-martensite is increasing up to some limits, inclination to stainless steels' pitting-formation is reducing. Data on constantly applied load effect on corrosion behavior in austenite metastable steel samples are discussed. Comparison with early received results on BN-350 heat-release assemblies corrosion damageability study after long storage in water is carried out
