Plasma losses from traps with cusped geometry

Description

A boundary structure of a confining magnetic field and plasma (β=1) as well as effective sizes of slits with respect to particle and energy losses have been determined on the basis of a self-consistent model of plasma escape through slits considering, in particular, the presence of large cut-off potential for electrons between slit and the vacuum chamber wall. It is established that the effective slit sizes at a system length lesser than lengths of free path can be several times lesser as compared with the Larmor ion radius
