Neutron absorber material containing boron and its fabrication process

Description

This material consists of a mortar comprising granules of a mineral composite of boron, aluminous cement and water, bonded chemically. The boron content is at least 0,6. 1022 atoms/cm3 and the hydrogen content is at least 1,42.1022 atoms/cm3. Preferentially, the boron ore material is colemanite. The present material can be used in the realization of shielding-walls, of coatings and elements of installations of a sub-critical medium

Abstract (French)

Materiau neutrophage contenant du bore et son procede de fabrication. Ce materiau est constitue par un mortier comprenant des granulats d'un compose mineral du bore, par exemple de la colemanite, du ciment alumineux et de l'eau liee chimiquement, la teneur en bore dudit mortier etant d'au moins 0,62.1022 atomes/cm3 et la teneur en hydrogene dudit mortier etant d'au moins 1,42.1022 atomes/cm3. Il est utilisable pour realisation de murs-ecrans, de revetements et d'elements d'installation pour l'obtention d'un milieu sous-critique
