Associated production of strange particles at resonance energies

Description

The distribution of the energy data for the two new π-p experiments performed, one with counter techniques at Nimrod, the second by a Saclay group with the 2m HBC are discussed, together with the location of the πN resonances proposed by the CERN and Saclay elastic phase shift analysis (EPSA) respectively. These two analyses have four resonances in common (S11, P11, D15, and F15); P13 is also present on both sides but at different energies (1.696 or 1.85GeV) and D13 is stated only in the Saclay analysis at 1.71GeV. The question being then, which of the resonances are coupled to the ΛK channel, comments are given: S11 has a dominant effect in the ΛK channel, P11 is clearly coupled to ΛK, D13 weakly coupled is in fact needed, P13 is confirmed as a resonance around 1.7GeV, D15 is present as a background not as a resonance
