Central parsec of the galaxy

The history of observations, the observations themselves, and the possible deductions from these observations are recounted with regards to the center of the Milky Way. The indications are that this center is comprised of an ultracompact object, possibly a massive black hole, embedded in a dense, swirling mass of stars, gas, and dust. Also comparisons are made with information on the centers of other galaxies
