Climate and territory: what will tomorrow's attractiveness look like? - Analysis

Briefing note on regional adaptation to climate change. Repeated droughts in summer and floods in winter remind us that climate disruption is a reality to which we must respond. While many studies have been carried out on a macroeconomic level (starting with those of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change - IPCC), either to measure the cost of inaction or to evaluate the investments required to take action, studies on a territorial scale (region, metropolis, Public establishment of inter-communal cooperation, etc.) are rarer. This note uses case studies to illustrate the costs of inaction/adaptation (economic costs, depopulation, etc.) and the solutions emerging in areas affected by the impacts of climate change (forest fires, mudslides, heat waves, urban planning, fossil fuel phase-out, etc.)
