Galaxy clusters modelization and detection in optical/infrared data
Description
Galaxy clusters are objects of importance for modern cosmology, particularly to study the dark energy. They allow us to constrain the formation of the structures scenario, which is sensitive to the nature of the dark energy. In order to understand this nature, it's necessary to establish huge catalogs of galaxy clusters with a good estimation of both mass and redshift. With the actual survey SDSS and the next generation as LSST, Pan- STARRS and Euclid, the optical/Near-infrared data have to play an important role in the establishment of this catalogs. On the other hand, because of the huge amount of galaxies in the sky, it's powerful to have others data to detect clusters. One of the best observation is the very hot gas intra-cluster and the satellite Planck is observing this using the Sunyaev-Zel'dovich effect. Combining the two, we will create the greatest robust catalog of massive clusters. I have developed a specific algorithm to confirm clusters detected by Planck and consolidate the estimation of the redshifts and masses. Moreover, I developed a model to estimate the utility of the future optical/Near-infrared photometric surveys in the detection of galaxy clusters in the future. (author)
