Microscopic approach to nuclear reactions: First application

  • 1. Institut fuer Theoretische Physik, Universitaet Tuebingen, Auf der Morgenstelle 14, D-7400 Tuebingen, Federal Republic of Germany

Description

In this second of two successive papers we apply the reaction model MERLIN, presented in the first paper, to the recently measured reaction 28Si(e,e'x/sub i/)27Al. The tremendous amount of calculated information is first analyzed as coming from a ''complete experiment.'' This allows a discussion of the assumptions which had to be made by the experimentalists in order to extract reasonable information from the measured data. A real comparison with the 28Si(e,e'x/sub i/)27Al-experiment is possible only in a rather restricted kinematical region. Hence, all predictions concerning other kinematics as well as polarization degress of freedom, etc., will be discussed in forthcoming papers. copyright 1988 Academic Press, Inc
