Two-particle distribution pp→pp + X and the Pomeron-Pomeron total cross section

Description
A spin-averaged two-particle distribution cross section for the title process is derived. The triple-Pomeranchukon couplings enter as factors in the distribution. From a colliding-beam viewpoint, the two exchanged Pomerons annihilate each other to form the hadron system. The distribution exhibits factorization into a pair of one-particle distributions. A t-dependent expression is given for the triple-Pomeron coupling which allows an estimate of the Pomeron-Pomeron total cross section. (author)
