A versatile TPC read-out system
Creators

Description
A read-out system for time-projection chambers was designed and built. The system digitizes and stores analog input signals from 128 channels fully in parallel. The signals are digitized with a 10 bits flash ADC at a sample rate of 20 MHz. Each channel can store up to 2048 samples. The stored data is analyzed by a programmable digital signal processor, which can extract pulse heights and positions. The special purpose system contains three standard VME slots, to allow read-out by VME processor boards. (orig.)
