Metastable de-excitation spectroscopy of surfaces

  • 1. CEA Centre d'Etudes Nucleaires de Saclay, 91 - Gif-sur-Yvette (France). Service de Physique Atomique

Description

Interaction between metastable rare gas atoms and surfaces is studied. The potential energy transfer mechanisms and the electronic properties of several clean or gas covered metal surfaces are exposed. This new spectroscopic technique is shown as a powerful method of analysing the surfaces. (Auth.)
