Application of the method of functional integration to the theory of the heavy atom

Description
The possibility is discussed of applying the method of functional integration to the description of a heavy atom. Passage in the functional integral to a new variable - the field of the electric potential - makes it possible to construct a modified perturbation theory for computing the Green function whose poles give the energy and damping of collective levels
