Studies of radioisotope production in cyclotron: 67Ga preparation

Description

Samples of natural metallic zinc or eletroplated zinc in nickel were irradiated with protons in the Cyclotron CV-28 of the Instituto de Pesquisas Energeticas e Nucleares - CNEN/SP. The chemical treatment was made by dissolution in 10 N HCl and the solution percolated through cationic resin. 67Ga was eluted with 3,5 N HCl the solution evaporated to dryness and taken up in 3,8% sodium citrate solution. Radioactive, chemical, radiochemistry impurities were determined. (Author)

Abstract (Portuguese)

Amostras de zinco metalico natural ou de zinco eletrodepositado em niquel foram irradiadas com protons no ciclotron CV-28 do Instituto de Pesquisas Energeticas e Nucleares - CNEN/SP. O tratamento quimico das amostras foi feito pela dissolucao em HCl 10 N e a solucao percolada em resina cationica. O 67Ga foi eluido com HCl 3,5 N levado a secura e retomado em solucao de citrato de sodio 3,8%. Analisou-se o produto final quanto a impurezas radioativas, quimicas e radioquimicas. (Autor)
