Microstructure and creep characteristics of recrystallized molybdenum

  • 1. AN Ukrainskoj SSR, Kiev. Inst. Metallofiziki

Description

Creep characteristics of high purity molybdenum monocrystal with [112] orientation are investigated. Samples were rolled up to ε=60% strain in order to produce polycrystalline state. Deformed monocrystal was annealed to produce a stable state according to a stepping regime: 700 deg C, 10 h+1100 deg C, 4 h+1500 deg C, 1 h. After such treatment, polycrystalline molybdenum with 1.5 mm grain size was formed. It is found out, that in the creep equation ε ∼ σn, n=1 in minor stress areas; n=8 - at high stresses. Existance of two areas by stress at 0.57 Tm temperature is also confirmed by structural investigations into the change of substructure desorientation general angle
