On the evaluation of a possible quality improvement of ores by nuclear-physical methods of separation

It is proposed that the results of geophysical sampling of ores in natural deposits should be used in studies of enrichment capacity based on nuclear physics methods. A copper-nickel deposit mined by the underground method is taken as an example. Gamma-gamma logging data obtained from coring boreholes have been used to derive enrichment capacity curves for rich and run-of-mine ores with and without allowance for systematic losses and impoverishment in the course of mining. Estimates have been made of the presumed parameters of gamma-absorption enrichment of these ores in terms of current indices for the mining of balance reserves of mineral resources. (author)
