Reactions of organogermanium bromides with samarium and ytterbium

Description

Composition, structure and some properties of interaction products of Sm and Yb with R3GeBr (R=Et, Ph) in THF solution at 20 deg C have been studied. It is shown that R3GeGeR3 and LnBr2 (Ln=Sm, Yb) are the main products, R3GeLnBr yield constitutes 4-6%. The structure of R3GeLnBr complexes has been confirmed with their reactions with PhOH, EtBr, RhBr, Et3GeBr, (C6F5)3GeBr
