Effect of non-α-cluster beam 19F on incomplete fusion fraction for different targets at energies ≈ 4-7 MeV/nucleon

Description

In the present work, relative contribution of complete fusion (CF) and incomplete fusion (ICF) reactions have been deduced from the analysis of excitation function (EF) of reaction residues populated in 19F + 159Tb, 19F + 169Tm, and 19F + 175Lu systems at energies ≈ 4-6 MeV/nucleon. It may be pertinent to mention that, most of the studies on ICF reactions have been done using beams 12C, 16O, 20Ne, etc., having α-cluster structure. However, the studies using the non α-cluster beams are still limited. Therefore, in the present work, an attempt has been made to explore the effect of non α-cluster beam. In the present work, a series of experiments have been performed using 19F beam on 159Tb, 169Tm, and 175Lu targets, which may provide a rich data set to understand the influence of projectile structure on ICF dynamics. The experiments have been carried out at the Inter University Accelerator Centre (IUAC), New Delhi, India. The analysis of experimentally measured excitation functions have been done within the framework of statistical model code. The ICF strength function has been deduced from the measured EFs and its sensitivity to the beam energy has been studied. It has been observed that, in all three systems viz., 19F + 159Tb, 19F + 169Tm, and 19F + 175Lu, the ICF fraction have been found to be sensitive to the beam energy and increases as the beam energy increases. Attempt has also been made to understand the role of entrance channel parameters on incomplete fusion dynamics. Further details will be presented. (author)
