A simplified multi-node BWR downcomer transient model
Creators

Description
A non-homogeneous thermal-equilibrium multi-node two phase flow model having only mass and energy conservation equations, neglecting momentum equation for saving computer time, was applied to BWR downcomer region for an improvement in water level calculation. This model was qualified with data obtained from TOSHIBA blowdown tests and comparisons to a more detailed code, and incorporated into a plant transient model. Start-up test data was used for assessment of the plant model and comparison was satisfactory
