Description
The reactions between COD Pt CL2, COD =1,5 cyclooctadiene, and the thin thiolate compounds (Ph)3 Sn(S Ph) and 2 Sn (S Ph)2 have been studied. Reaction between COD Pt CL2 and (Ph)3 Sn (S Ph) yield two new Pt-Sn heterobimetallic complexes depending on the COD Pt Cl2/(Ph)3 Sn (S Ph) molar ratio. For a 1:2 molar ratio, COD Pt (S Ph)2 (Cl) Sn (Ph)3. 2CH2 CL2, complex 1, was obtained, together with the homometallic complex COD Pt (S Ph) Cl. CH2 CL2. For a 1:1 molar ratio the complex formed was COD Pt (S Ph) (Cl)2 Sn (Ph)3.3CH2 CL2, complex 2. Reaction with (Ph)2 Sn (S Ph)2 did not yielded any heterobimetallic complex, but rather COD Pt (S Ph)2.4CH2 CL2. The complexes were characterized by IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, 195Pt-NMR, 119 Sn-NMR and Moessbauer spectroscopies, elemental analysis atomic absorption. (author)
