Description
Samples were taken from the Jihlava river, from the equalizing reservoir at Mohelno and the main reservoir at Dalesice. Bottom sediments and samples of aquatic plants and animals were also taken. Determination of gross beta activity was made by measuring the annealed water evaporation residue or the annealed dried matter of sediments and organisms. Also determined were the activities of 90Sr and 137Cs. The results are tabulated. It was found that in the first year of the operation of the Dukovany nuclear power plant no significant increase in radioactivity had occurred in the water of the Jihlava river.
