30 years from the start-up of the A-1 reactor unit

Description
The A-1 reactor at Jaslovske Bohunice was the first power reactor to be commissioned and started-up in the former Czechoslovakia. Although it had to be shut down and embedded in concrete due to an accident, the reactor was a success of Czechoslovak engineers and enriched Czechoslovak science and technology with invaluable experience. An overview of the reactor parameters and of its operating and decommissioning history is given. (P.A.)
